Sal Rei Los ingleses solían visitar la isla en busca de sal, de ahí que su capital fuese bautizada como Sal Rei. Con apenas 3.000 habitantes, la ciudad transmite lamisma sensación de tranquilidad que el resto de la isla. Cementeriodedelfines Unmisterio envuelve a una playa cercana aMorre Negro. Allí se acumulan los restos de centenares de delfines y ballenas. Los lugareños dicen que son las propiedades magnéticas del lugar las que atraen a estos cetáceos a esa parte de la costa. Su estéril paisaje interior, quemuchos achacan a las cabras introduci- das en la isla en el siglo XVI (algunas de sus descendientes aún se pasean por sus costas), contrasta con sus paradisíacas playas.
