ES Basta con echar la vista atrás un par de décadas para comprobar que el auge turístico de Dubái es un fenómeno reciente. Fue a finales del siglo pasado y principios de este cuando aquel pueblecito de pescadores cuyos habitantes vivían fundamentalmente de la recolección de perlas comenzó a tornarse en la vanguardista ciudad que es hoy. Una metrópolis referente en la zona a la que algunos denominan la Puerta de Oriente. Dubái está de moda. Cada año, millones de turistas acuden a la capital del emirato que lleva el mismo nombre. Razones para visitarla no les faltan. Aquí aportamos solo algunas de ellas.

EN You only need to look back a few decades to see that Dubai’s tourism boom is a recent phenomenon. It was around the turn of the century when this small fishing town whose inhabitants’ main source of subsistence was collecting pearls began its metamorphosis into the futuristic city of today, a world-class metropolis often referred to as the Gateway to the East. The city is in vogue. Every year millions of tourists flock to the capital of the Emirate of Dubai. It’s a destination with so much to offer, so here are some of our highlights.

DE Man braucht nur ein paar Jahrzehnte zurückzuschauen um festzustellen, dass der touristische Aufschwung in Dubai ein neueres Phänomen ist. Erst mit Ende des letzten und Beginn diesen Jahrhunderts begann sich das kleine Fischerdorf, dessen Einwohner einst größtenteils vom Perlentauchen lebten, in die avantgardistische Stadt zu verwandeln, die es heute ist. Eine Metropole, die in der von einigen als Tor zum Orient bezeichneten Region Maßstäbe setzt. Dubai ist angesagt. Jedes Jahr kommen Millionen von Touristen in die Hauptstadt des gleichnamigen Emirats. An Gründen für einen Besuch fehlt es nicht - wir stellen hier nur einige von ihnen zusammen.
