ES Este 2024 ha sido especial por muchos motivos. Algunos de ellos tienen que ver con aperturas como la del Riu Palace Aquarelle en Falmouth, nuestro séptimo hotel en Jamaica. También nuestro regreso a Mauricio con la completa renovación de los hoteles Riu Palace Mauritius y Riu Turquoise, que incorporan novedades como el servicio exclusivo Elite Club en el Palace, y una oferta gastronómica y de actividades ampliada ideal para familias en el Turquoise, han contribuido a ello. La compañía, además, ha cumplido un nuevo hito en su expansión internacional con la inauguración del Riu Plaza Chicago en el corazón de la ciudad. La reapertura del Riu Palace Bavaro tras su reforma ha marcado un antes y un después en lo que se refiere a oferta de la cadena tanto en República Dominicana como en el mundo. Y terminamos el año con la reforma integral del Hotel Riu Negril en Jamaica que, además de renovar todos sus espacios, ahora incorpora también las famosas fiestas temáticas RIU Party. Otro hito que merece especial mención y nos llena de orgullo es el trabajo que año a año realizamos en RSC, materia de la que hemos presentado el informe anual en el que destaca la inversión social que ha rozado los 4 millones de euros en 2023, siendo la infancia la principal línea de actuación. Pero si este ha sido un año especial para RIU es, sobre todo, por la jubilación de nuestra consejera delegada en los últimos 26 años, Carmen Riu, quien a partir de ahora pasa a presidir el Consejo de Administración del Grupo. Su último gran proyecto ha sido el lanzamiento de la estrategia Proudly Committed, con la que ha querido dejar la empresa preparada para afrontar los retos del futuro, situando la sostenibilidad en el centro de todas las decisiones de la compañía.

EN 2024 has been special for many reasons. Some of them have to do with new openings such as the Riu Palace Aquarelle in Falmouth, our seventh hotel in Jamaica. Our return to Mauritius with the complete renovation of the Riu Palace Mauritius and Riu Turquoise hotels, which incorporate new features such as the exclusive Elite Club service at the Palace, and an expanded gastronomic and activity offering, ideal for families, at the Turquoise, contributed to this feeling as well. The company also reached a new milestone in its international expansion with the opening of the Riu Plaza Chicago in the heart of the city. The reopening of the Riu Palace Bavaro after its renovation has marked a before and after in terms of the chain’s offering both in the Dominican Republic and around the world. And we end the year with the comprehensive renovation of the Hotel Riu Negril in Jamaica which, in addition to renovating all its spaces, now also incorporates the famous RIU Party theme parties. Another milestone that deserves special mention and fills us with pride is the work we do year after year in CSR. Our annual report on this area highlights our social investments, which reached almost 4 million euros in 2023, with children as the main focus of our actions. But if this has been a special year for RIU it is, above all, due to the retirement of our CEO for the last 26 years, Carmen Riu, who will now chair the Group’s Board of Directors. Her last major project has been the launch of the Proudly Committed strategy, with which she prepared the company for the challenges of the future by placing sustainability at the heart of all the company’s decisions.

DE Das Jahr 2024 war aus vielen Gründen etwas Besonderes. Einige davon haben mit Neueröffnungen zu tun, wie dem Riu Palace Aquarelle in Falmouth, unserem siebten Hotel auf Jamaika. Unsere Rückkehr nach Mauritius, mit der kompletten Renovierung der Hotels Riu Palace Mauritius und Riu Turquoise, hat ebenfalls dazu beigetragen. Zu den Neuheiten zählen der exklusive Elite Club Service im Palace und ein erweitertes Angebot an Gastronomie und Aktivitäten im Riu Turquoise, welches sich ideal für Familien eignet. Mit der Eröffnung des Riu Plaza Chicago im Herzen der Stadt hat das Unternehmen außerdem einen neuen Meilenstein in seiner internationalen Expansion erreicht. Die Wiedereröffnung des Riu Palace Bavaro nach seiner Renovierung markiert ein Vorher und ein Nachher in Bezug auf das Angebot der Kette, sowohl in der Dominikanischen Republik als auch weltweit. Und wir werden das Jahr mit der umfassenden Renovierung des Hotels Riu Negril in Jamaika beenden, wo nicht nur alle Räumlichkeiten renoviert, sondern auch die berühmten RIU Party Themenpartys eingeführt werden. Ein weiterer Meilenstein, der eine besondere Erwähnung verdient und uns mit Stolz erfüllt, ist die Arbeit, die wir Jahr für Jahr im Bereich CSR leisten. In unserem Jahresbericht werden unsere sozialen Investitionen hervorgehoben, die im Jahr 2023 fast 4 Millionen Euro erreicht haben, wobei Kinder im Mittelpunkt unseres Handels standen. Wenn dieses Jahr ein besonderes Jahr für RIU war, so liegt das vor allem an der Verabschiedung unserer CEO der letzten 26 Jahre, Carmen Riu, die nun den Vorsitz des Verwaltungsrats der Gruppe übernehmen wird. Ihr letztes großes Projekt war die Einführung der „Proudly Committed“ Strategie, mit der sie das Unternehmen auf die Herausforderungen der Zukunft vorbereitet hat, wobei nun die Nachhaltigkeit im Fokus aller Entscheidungen des Unternehmens steht.
