COMMITMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY 360º ENGAGEMENT UND NACHHALTIGKEIT 360° COMPROMISO Y SOSTENIBILIDAD 360º PROUDLY COMMITTED: ES Hasta hace no mucho tiempo, viajar era un lujo solo accesible para unos cuantos privilegiados. El desarrollo de la industria turística trajo consigo la democratización del sector, permitiendo a un cada vez mayor número de personas disfrutar de unos merecidos días de descanso, así como conocer nuevos destinos. En RIU llevamos más de 70 años trabajando precisamente para que las vacaciones de nuestros huéspedes sean lo más parecido a lo que siempre han soñado. Y aunque durante todos estos años, nuestra presencia en distintos lugares del planeta se ha traducido en ventajas como más trabajo, desarrollo de la economía y nuevas infraestructuras en todos esos destinos, entre otras, también somos conscientes de las consecuencias que puede generar nuestra actividad, como el desgaste de los entornos, introducción de cambios en la cultura de la zona, formas de vida, etc.

EN Until recently, travel was a luxury reserved for the privileged few. The development of the tourism industry has democratized the sector, allowing an ever-increasing number of people to enjoy a few well-deserved days of rest, as well as discover new destinations. At RIU, we have been working for more than 70 years to make our guests’ vacations as close as possible to what they have always dreamed of. Over the years, our presence in different parts of the world has brought benefits such as more jobs, economic development and new infrastructure in all these destinations, among others. But we are also aware of the consequences that our activity can generate, such as environment wear and tear, introducing changes to the culture of the area, ways of life, etc.

DE Vor nicht allzu langer Zeit war das Reisen noch ein Luxus, der nur wenigen Privilegierten vorbehalten war. Die Entwicklung der Tourismusindustrie brachte eine Demokratisierung des Sektors mit sich, die es immer mehr Menschen ermöglicht, ein paar wohlverdiente Tage der Erholung zu genießen und neue Reiseziele zu entdecken. Bei RIU arbeiten wir seit mehr als 70 Jahren daran, den Urlaub unserer Gäste so zu gestalten, wie sie es sich immer erträumt haben. Im Laufe der Jahre hat unsere Präsenz in den verschiedenen Teilen der Welt zu Vorteilen geführt, wie z.B. mehr Arbeitsplätze, wirtschaftliche Entwicklung und neue Infrastrukturen in all diesen Reisezielen. Wir sind uns aber auch der Folgen bewusst, die unsere Tätigkeit mit sich bringen kann, wie etwa die Umweltbelastung, die Veränderung der Kultur und der Lebensweise in der Region etc.
