DE Es ist nicht übertrieben, wenn wir das Jahr 2017 als besonderes Jahr für RIU bezeichnen. Nicht umsonst schließen wir das Geschäftsjahr mit der Zufriedenheit, einem neuen Ziel nähergekommen zu sein: unserem ersten Hotel in Madrid, in einem so bemerkenswerten Gebäude wie dem Edificio España. Die Umbaumaßnahmen haben bereits begonnen, so dass 2019 das neue Riu Plaza als erstes Hotel unserer urbanen Linie in unserem Herkunftsland erö nen wird. Im selben Jahr wird auch die Erö nung zwei neuer Resorts in Dubai und auf den Malediven stattfinden, mit denen wir unsere Expansion im Orient und in Asien konsolidieren. Zwischenzeitlich werden wir 2018 die folgenden 3 neuen Palace erö nen: Palace Costa Mujeres und Palace Baja California in Mexiko und Pala- ce Boavista auf den Kapverden erö nen und in einigen unserer bestehenden Hotels wie dem Riu Chiclana, dem Riu Tequila, dem Riu Palace Tropical Bay, dem Riu Palace Punta Cana oder dem Riu Plaza The Gresham Dublin umfassende Renovierungen durchführen. Und all dies tun wir, um unseren wichtigsten Auftrag zu erfüllen: unseren Gästen an allen Reisezielen, an denen wir vertreten sind, eine einzigartige Erfahrung zu bieten. Gleichermaßen bleibt auch unser Einsatz im Bereich Umwelt und Soziales grundlegend, wie unsere Zusammenarbeit mit NGOs wie Plant for the Planet oder Make a Wish be- weist, von denen wir unter anderem in dieser neuen Ausgabe des RIU Magazines berichten. Wir wünschen Ihnen viel Freude beim Lesen.

ES Calificar 2017 como año especial para RIU no resulta desmesurado. No en vano cerramos el ejercicio con la satisfacción de haber conseguido un nuevo reto: adquirir nuestro primer hotel en Madrid, en un lugar tan emblemático como el Edificio España. Iniciados ya los trabajos de rehabilitación, será en 2019 cuando el nuevo Riu Plaza, el primer establecimiento de nuestra línea urbana ubicado en nuestro país de origen, abra sus puertas. Durante ese mismo año tendrá lugar también la apertura de dos nuevos resorts en Dubái y Maldivas respectivamente, con los que consolidamos nuestra expansión en Oriente y Asia. Mientras tanto, en 2018 inauguraremos tres nuevos Palace: Palace Costa Mujeres y Palace Baja California en Mexico y Palace Boavista en Cabo Verde, y seguiremos con reformas integrales en algunos de nuestros clásicos, como el Riu Chiclana, el Riu Tequila, el Riu Palace Tropical Bay, el Riu Palace Punta Cana o el Riu Plaza The Gresham Dublin. Y todo ello para cumplir con nuestro principal cometido: ofrecer una experiencia única a nuestros clientes en todos los destinos en los que estamos presentes. Del mismo modo, nuestro compromiso en materia social y medioambiental sigue siendo primordial, como lo demuestra nuestra colaboración con ONGs como Plant for the Planet y Make a wish, de las cuales tratamos, entre otros temas, en este nuevo número de RIU Magazine. EN To say that 2017 was special for RIU would be an understatement. We finished the year with the satisfaction of a major milestone: the acquisition of our first hotel in Madrid in the iconic Edificio España building. The refurbishment work is already under way and this new Riu Plaza, our first city hotel in our own country, is set to open its doors in 2019. In 2019, we are also planning to open two new resorts in Dubai and the Maldives, consolidating our expansion in the East and Asia. In 2018, we will open three new Palace: Palace Costa Mujeres and Palace Baja California in Mexico and Palace Boavista in Cabo Verde and continue with the major refurbishment programme at some of our classic hotels, such as Riu Chiclana, Riu Tequila, Riu Palace Tropical Bay, Riu Palace Punta Cana and Riu Plaza The Gresham Dublin. All this is designed to help us meet our main goal: to o er our guests a unique experience in all our destinations. Our commitment to the environment and society also continues to be extremely important to us, as shown by our collaboration with the NGOs Plant for the Planet and Make a Wish, which are featured alongside other content in this issue of RIU Magazine.
