ES Todo el archipiélago destaca, sin duda, por el carácter de sus gentes y por sus pai- sajes extraordinarios. Sí, como este Ojo Azul que nos observa desde una gruta de piedra de 20 metros, brindándonos un efecto visual arrollador, sin artificios, como por arte de magia. Pero hay que llegar en el momento apropiado, con el cielo despejado, por la mañana. Entonces, los rayos de sol que consiguen sumergirse entre las rocas de Buracona nos ofrecen un deleite sensorial. Porque es un área con la orografía volcánica marca de la casa debido al origen geográ- fico de todo el país. Y la Buracona también está repleta de piscinas naturales, así que nadie debe olvidar el bañador. Tampoco la cámara. El Ojo Azul llama la atención del más escép- tico. Ni siquiera el mejor decorador podría lograr este eventual espejismo, una luz esfé- rica y celeste que brota desde las entrañas de un lugar llamado Cabo Verde.

EN The Cape Verde archipelago is famous for the warmth of its people and its enchant- ing landscapes. The Blue Eye is no excep- tion. Looking back up at curious viewers from a 20-metre grotto, the stunning optical e ect is as natural as it is magical. However, it’s crucial you time your visit right, arriving in the morning when the skies are clear. These are the conditions that allow the sun’s rays to filter through the rocks of Buracona, an area whose volcanic formations are among the most emblematic of the country’s geog- raphy, to produce the spectacle. Buracona is also teeming with natural pools to swim in, so don’t forget your swimsuit... or your camera either! The Blue Eye will impress even the most hardened sceptic and the best of sculptors would be hard-pressed to create the spheri- cal blue light that emerges from the depths of this magical place called Cape Verde.

DE Die ganze Inselgruppe zeichnet sich zwei- fellos durch den Charakter ihrer Bevölkerung und durch ihre außergewöhnliche Landschaft aus. So außergewöhnlich wie das “Blaue Auge”, das uns aus einer 20 Meter tiefen Steingrotte heraus beobachtet und uns ohne jegliche Technik und wie von Zauberhand einen überwältigenden visuellen E ekt bietet. Man muss allerdings den richtigen Moment abpassen, am Morgen und bei klarem Himmel. Dann bescheren uns die Sonnenstrahlen, die zwischen die Felsen von Buracona tauchen, ein Fest der Sinne. Denn diese Gegend weist die inseltypische vulkanische Oberfläche auf, die im geographischen Ursprung des Landes begründet liegt. In Buracona findet man außerdem zahlreiche natürliche Becken, es sollte also niemand seine Badekleidung vergessen. Und auch die Kamera nicht. Das “Blaue Auge” zieht auch den größten Skep- tiker in seinen Bann. Selbst der beste Dekorateur wäre nicht in der Lage, eine solch vergängliche Illusion, ein solches sphärisches, blaues Licht, wie es aus den Tiefen eines magischen Ortes namens Kapverden dringt, zu erscha en.

ES En Cabo Verde existe un género musical autóctono: la morna, un estilo africano parecido al blues. También una leyenda: Cesaria Évora. ‘La diva de los pies descalzos’, como se conocía a esta artista que alguna vez dijo: «Los caboverdianos aprendimos a tener fe en el mar. Mindelo es una bahía grande, llegaban barcos y la gente se echaba a los botes porque los barcos siempre traían cosas… La vida era muy movida”. Y, en Cabo Verde, a la vida le cantó ella: Cesaria Évora.

EN Cape Verde has its own indigenous genre of music called morna, with a heavy African sound that’s similar to the blues. The music also has its legend: Cesaria Évora. Known as the Barefoot Diva, describing the island’s inhabitants, the singer once remarked: “People from Cape Verde learn to trust the sea. Mindelo is a large bay and when the boats arrive, people would run to greet them because they always brought things… Life was full of energy.” And, in Cape Verde, Cesaria Évora’s songs pay homage to life.

Mindelo ist eine große Bucht, Schi e kamen dorthin und die Leute sprangen herein, weil die Schi e immer etwas brachten... Das Leben war sehr bewegt.“ Und auf Kap Verde war sie es, die das Leben besang: Cesaria Évora.
