EN This Gran Canaria couple from Santa Brígida, in the center of the island, has been coming to the Riu Gran Canaria Hotel, since 2000. Arturo Rodríguez, an 81-year-old retiree, and Zoraida Montesdeoca, a 61-year-old beautician, stay for about six days at a time, and “usually meet other loyal and regular guests.” As for the hotel’s recent renovation, both agree that they really like the new location of the stage, which now has an outdoor section, and the new 24-hour sports bar, which is also located outside and “has much more life and light.” Their favorite restaurants are the Italian and the Kulinarium with menus that change often. They also enjoy the pool and walking on the beach. DE Dieses Ehepaar aus Santa Brígida, im Zentrum der Insel Gran Canaria gelegen, kommt seit 2000 in das Hotel Riu Gran Canaria. Arturo Rodríguez, ein 81-jähriger Rentner, und Zoraida Montesdeoca, eine 61-jährige Kosmetikerin, bleiben jedes Mal etwa sechs Tage und „treffen meist andere treue Stammgäste“. Was die Renovierung des Hotels betrifft, so sind sich beide einig, dass ihnen die neue Lage der Bühne gefällt, die jetzt einen Außenbereich hat, sowie die neue 24-Stunden-Sportbar, die sich ebenfalls im Freien befindet und „viel lebendiger und heller“ ist. Arturo Rodríguez, jubilado de 81 años, y Zoraida Montesdeoca, esteticista de 61, se alojan unos seis días cada vez que vienen, y “solemos coincidir con otros huéspedes fieles y habituales”. De la reforma que acaba de acometer el hotel, ambos coinciden en que les gusta mucho la nueva ubicación del escenario que ahora tiene una parte al aire libre, y el nuevo Sports bar 24 horas que también se encuentra en el exterior y “tiene mucha más vida y luz”. Sus restaurantes favoritos son “el italiano” y “el Kulinarium” con cartas que se renuevan con frecuencia. Además, les encanta disfrutar de la piscina y caminar por la playa.

ES No es fácil, pero con la reforma del Hotel Riu Gran Canaria queda demostrado que es posible modernizar y dar un nuevo aire a un establecimiento sin que este pierda su esencia. Ubicado frente al mar, en el paseo de Meloneras, el hotel reabrió sus puertas en agosto de 2023 tras una profunda reforma. La renovación ha dotado a las instalaciones de más espacio y confort, pero sin perder el encanto por el que el hotel se ha convertido en un destino vacacional habitual entre muchos de sus huéspedes. Hablamos con algunos de ellos para que nos cuenten las razones por las que “repiten” en el Riu Gran Canaria y por qué seguirán haciéndolo después de la reforma.

EN It is not easy, but with the renovation of the Hotel Riu Gran Canaria we have proven that it is possible to modernize and give a new look to an establishment without losing its essence. The hotel, located in front of the Playa de las Meloneras, reopened its doors in August 2023 after a thorough renovation. The refurbishment has given the facilities with more space and comfort, but without losing the charm that has made the hotel a popular vacation destination for many of its guests. We spoke to some of them to find out the reasons why they keep coming back to the Riu Gran Canaria and why they will continue to do so after the refurbishment.

DE Einfach ist es nicht, doch mit der Renovierung des Riu Gran Canaria wurde bewiesen, dass es möglich ist, ein Haus zu modernisieren und ihm ein neues Aussehen zu verleihen, ohne dass es sein Wesen verliert. Das Hotel liegt am Meer, direkt an der Promenade von Meloneras, und wurde im August 2023 nach einer umfassenden Renovierung wiedereröffnet. Die Modernisierung hat den Einrichtungen mehr Platz und Komfort verschafft und hat gleichzeitig den Charme erhalten, der das Hotel zu einem beliebten Urlaubsziel für viele seiner Gäste gemacht hat. Wir haben mit einigen von ihnen gesprochen, um herauszufinden, warum sie immer wieder ins Riu Gran Canaria reisen und warum sie dies auch nach der Renovierung fortsetzen werden.
