ES 2025 ha sido un año de transición y nuevos comienzos para RIU. Tras la jubilación de Carmen Riu en 2024, la compañía ha avanzado en su relevo generacional, incorporando a la cuarta generación en áreas clave de operaciones y comercial. Un paso decisivo que asegura continuidad y futuro sin perder nuestra esencia. La primavera se inauguró con un hito especial: la apertura del Riu Palace La Mola en Formentera, primera reforma dirigida íntegramente por Luis y Roberto Riu Rodríguez, que lo elevaron a la categoría Riu Palace con un estilo renovado. También culminamos la modernización de hoteles emblemáticos como el Riu Palace Tikida Agadir en Marruecos, el Riu Palace Calypso en Fuerteventura, el Riu Guanacaste en Costa Rica y el Riu Jalisco en México. En el segmento urbano destacamos la inauguración del rooftop 360º del Riu Plaza Guadalajara, que se suma al éxito de estos espacios ya icónicos en Madrid y Chicago. Otro momento entrañable de este 2025 ha sido la celebración del 20º aniversario de nuestra llegada a Cabo Verde, destino cuya evolución turística hemos acompañado con orgullo y en el que seguimos reforzando nuestra estrategia de sostenibilidad global Proudly Committed. El año trajo además un gran hito internacional: la apertura del Riu Plaza Toronto, nuestro primer hotel en Canadá, con una ubicación privilegiada en pleno Entertainment District, muy cerca del lago Ontario y a corta distancia de las Cataratas del Niágara. Finalmente, cerramos 2025 con el estreno del Riu Ventura en Cancún, un Todo Incluido cinco estrellas que continúa con nuestra apuesta por el Caribe mexicano. Un broche de oro para un año marcado por la innovación, la sostenibilidad y la continuidad de un proyecto familiar con más de siete décadas de historia.

EN 2025 has been a year of transition and new beginnings for RIU. Following Carmen Riu’s retirement in 2024, the company made progress in its generational handover, incorporating the fourth generation in key areas of operations and sales. A decisive step that ensures continuity and the future without losing our essence. Spring began with a special milestone: the opening of the Riu Palace La Mola in Formentera, the first renovation entirely directed by Luis and Roberto Riu Rodríguez, who elevated it to the Riu Palace category with a renewed style. We also completed the modernization of emblematic hotels such as the Riu Palace Tikida Agadir in Morocco, the Riu Palace Calypso in Fuerteventura, the Riu Guanacaste in Costa Rica, and the Riu Jalisco in Mexico. In the urban hotel segment, we highlight the opening of the 360º rooftop at the Riu Plaza Guadalajara, which builds upon the success of these already iconic spaces in Madrid and Chicago. Another key moment in 2025 was the celebration of the 20th anniversary of our arrival in Cape Verde, a destination whose tourism development we have proudly supported and where we continue to strengthen our Proudly Committed global sustainability strategy. The year also brought a major international milestone: the opening of the Riu Plaza Toronto, our first hotel in Canada, with a prime location in the heart of the Entertainment District, very close to Lake Ontario and a short distance from Niagara Falls. Finally, we closed 2025 with the launch of the Riu Ventura in Cancun, a five-star All-inclusive hotel that continues our commitment to the Mexican Caribbean. A crowning achievement for a year marked by innovation, sustainability, and the continuity of a family project with more than seven decades of history.

DE Für RIU war 2025 ein Jahr des Wandels und des Neuanfangs. Nachdem Carmen Riu im Jahr 2024 in den Ruhestand ging, hat das Unternehmen seinen Generationswechsel vorangetrieben und die vierte Generation in die Schlüsselbereiche Betrieb und Vertrieb eingebunden – ein entscheidender Schritt, der Kontinuität und Zukunftssicherheit gewährleistet, ohne dass wir dabei unsere Essenz verlieren. Der Frühling begann mit einem besonderen Meilenstein: der Eröffnung des Riu Palace La Mola auf Formentera. Dies ist die erste Renovierung, die vollständig von Luis und Roberto Riu Rodríguez geleitet wurde, die das Hotel mit einem neuen Stil in die Kategorie Riu Palace erhoben haben. Außerdem haben wir die Modernisierung weiterer bekannter Hotels abgeschlossen, darunter des Riu Palace Tikida Agadir in Marokko, des Riu Palace Calypso auf Fuerteventura, des Riu Guanacaste in Costa Rica und des Riu Jalisco in Mexiko. Im Segment Stadthotels möchten wir die Eröffnung der 360º-Dachterrasse des Riu Plaza Guadalajara hervorheben, die an den Erfolg der bereits legendären Terrassen in Madrid und Chicago anknüpft. Ein weiterer bedeutender Moment des Jahres 2025 war die Feier zum 20-jährigen Jubiläum unserer Ankunft auf den Kapverden, einem Reiseziel, dessen touristische Entwicklung wir mit Stolz begleitet haben und in dem wir unsere globale Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie „Proudly Committed” weiter stärken. Das Jahr brachte auch einen wichtigen internationalen Höhepunkt mit sich: die Eröffnung des Riu Plaza Toronto, unseres ersten Hotels in Kanada, in privilegierter Lage im Herzen des Entertainment District, ganz in der Nähe des Ontariosees und unweit der Niagarafälle. Das Jahr 2025 schlossen wir mit der Eröffnung des Riu Ventura in Cancún ab, einem 5 Sterne All-Inclusive Hotel, das unser Engagement in der mexikanischen Karibik fortsetzt. Ein krönender Abschluss für ein Jahr, das von Innovation, Nachhaltigkeit und der Kontinuität eines Familienprojekts mit mehr als sieben Jahrzehnten Geschichte geprägt war.
