EN The trip along Martha Brae River departs from the small town of Falmouth, capital of Trelawny parish. Founded in 1769 by Thomas Reid, it flourished as amarket and port when Jamaica was the world’s greatest sugar producer. Its wide streets are overlooked by solemn Georgian constructions, a symbol of the town’s past glories. The Baptist Manse building, the first masonic lodge on the island, is the real gemamong what remains of this port’s architectural heritage.

Das emblematischste architektoni- sche Relikt der alten Hafenstadt ist The Baptist Manse, der erste Freimaurer-Tempel der Insel.
