Eso sin contar que en los últimos años la ciudad se ha convertido en icono de la tecnología gracias a Silicon Valley, donde tienen su sede corporaciones de la talla de Google, Apple, Facebook o Paypal, así como miles de start-ups. Y cómo olvidarse de Castro, el popular y colorido barrio por el que San Francisco es conocida como la capital gay. O su Chinatown, la segunda mayor comunidad china de Estados Unidos. San Francisco, en resumen, es una ciudad difícil de sintetizar. Afortunadamente.

In short, San Francisco is a city that is hard to sum up. Perhaps that’s what makes it so great.

Und dabei haben wir noch nicht einmal berücksichtigt, dass die Stadt in den letzten Jahren dank Silicon Valley zum Zentrum der Technologie geworden ist, wo Konzerne der Größe von Google, Apple, Facebook oder Paypal sowie tausende Start-ups ihren Sitz haben. Und nicht zu vergessen Castro, der beliebte und bunte Stadtteil, der San Francisco als Hauptstadt der Schwulen und Lesben bekannt gemacht hat. Oder Chinatown, die zweitgrößte chinesische Gemeinde in den USA.

Alles in allem ist San Francisco schwierig mit nur einem Ort zu charakterisieren. Glücklicherweise.
