Reservaron dos suites en el Riu Palace Maldivas y metieron en su equipaje todo cuanto era necesario para practicar su actividad favorita: tomar el sol. Pero después de un par de días disfrutando del relax y de las aguas transparentes del océano Índico, empezaban a echar de menos algo de acción. Suhud atendía la barra del bar de la piscina y no había podido evitar fijarse en el cambio de actitud de las cuatro mujeres desde que llegaron un par de días antes. Ya no parecían tan animadas. Así que cuando se acercaron a pedir unas bebidas, el camarero se atrevió a hablarles: —El hotel es maravilloso, Suhud, no podemos estar más satisfechas con el trato que nos brindáis —respondió una de ellas—. Pero es que estamos tan acostumbradas a las prisas y al estrés que se nos hace raro disfrutar de tanta calma. —¿Por qué no se animan a probar alguna de nuestras actividades? Estoy seguro de que se divertirían mucho. —¿Va todo bien, señoras?

They reserved two suites at Riu Palace Maldivas and packed their cases with everything they would need for their favourite activity: sunbathing. However, after a few days enjoying the relaxation and crystalline waters of the Indian Ocean, they started to feel the need for some action. Suhud, who worked at the poolside bar, couldn’t help noticing how the women’s attitudes had changed since their arrival a few days earlier. They were no longer as lively. The next time they came up to the bar to order their drinks, the waiter decided to ask them the reason for the change. “The hotel is perfect, Suhud. And we couldn’t ask for a better barman,” replied one of the group. “But we’re so used to rushing about and being stressed that it seems strange enjoying all this peace and quiet.”

Suhud arbeitete an der Poolbar und ihmwar die Veränderung imVerhalten der vier Freundinnen seit ihrer Ankunft vor ein paar Tagen nicht entgangen. Sie schienen nicht mehr so fröhlich zu sein. Und so wagte es der Barkeeper, sie anzusprechen, als sie kamen, um Getränke zu bestellen: „Ist alles in Ordnung, die Damen?” „Das Hotel ist wundervoll, Suhud, wir könnten mit eurem Service nicht zufriedener sein”, antwortete eine von ihnen. „Aber wir sind so an Hektik und Stress gewöhnt, dass es sich für uns komisch anfühlt, so viel Ruhe zu genießen.” „Warum probieren Sie dann nicht einmal eine unserer Aktivitäten aus? Ich bin sicher, das würde Ihnen großen Spaß machen.” „Aber waren wir nicht gekommen, um uns auszuruhen und zu erholen? Um nichts zu tun?” antwortete eine andere.

“Why don’t you give one of our activities a try? I’m sure you’d have a great time.”

“But we came to rest and relax, to do nothing,” replied another.

—¿Pero no habíamos venido a descansar y relajarnos, a no hacer nada? —respondió otra.
