La Fundación Aitana apoya a niños con cáncer y a sus familias en Cancún The Aitana Foundation supports children with cancer and their families in Cancun/ Die Stiftung Fundación Aitana unterstützt krebskranke Kinder und ihre Familien in Cancún

ES En 2011, Yusi y su familia comenzaron una campaña de recogida de juguetes para recordar a su hija Aitana, fallecida de cáncer hacía muy poco tiempo. Era Navidad y juntos repartieron todos esos juguetes entre los niños enfermos que estaban recibimiento tratamiento por diferentes tipos de cáncer en la ciudad de Cancún. La iniciativa tuvo tanto éxito que una doctora del hospital de Mérida le sugirió a Yusi Dzib Echevarría, madre de Aitana, abrir un espacio donde pudieran ayudar a otros niños enfermos y a sus familias. Así surgió la Fundación Aitana. Desde entonces, Yusi, su actual presidenta, ha conseguido con mucho esfuerzo y dedicación el apoyo económico de empresas y particulares con el que ha podido ofrecer orientación, apoyo psicológico y económico a pacientes de cáncer de entre 11 y 17 años. Gracias a la Fundación Aitana, estos niños también han logrado una mayor integración social y familiar hasta finalizar su tratamiento, un estado emocional que en ocasiones influye en mejores resultados médicos.

EN In 2011, Yusi and her family began a campaign to collect children’s toys in memory of their daughter Aitana, whose life had recently been claimed by cancer. It was Christmas and they distributed the toys to children who were receiving treatment for different types of cancer in the city of Cancun. The initiative was a success, so much so that a doctor at the hospital in Mérida suggested that Yusi Dzib Echevarría, Aitana’s mother, create a space for helping other children suffering from the illness and their families. And so, the Aitana Foundation was born. From then on, the efforts and sacrifice of Yusi, its current president, have secured donations from companies and individuals, allowing her to provide guidance and psychological and financial support for cancer patients between the ages of 11 and 17. The work of the Aitana Foundation allows children to be more integrated in society and family life until completion of their treatment, providing an emotional boost that often translates into improvements in medical results.

DE 2011 starteten Yusi Dzib Echevarría und ihre Familie im Andenken an ihre Tochter Aitana, die kurz zuvor an Krebs gestorben war, eine Spielzeugsammelaktion. Es warWeihnachten und gemeinsam verteilten sie die Spielsachen an Kinder, die in Cancún wegen derselben Krankheit in Behandlung waren. Die Aktion war so erfolgreich, dass eine Ärztin des Krankenhauses von Mérida Yusi vorschlug, doch eine Initiative ins Leben zu rufen, die anderen Patienten und ihren Familien helfen könne. So entstand die Stiftung Fundación Aitana. Seither hat Yusi, die derzeitige Präsidentin der Stiftung, die finanzielle Unterstützung durch Firmen und Privatpersonen erwirkt, um an Krebs erkrankten Kindern zwischen 11 und 17 Jahren Beratung sowie psychologische und finanzielle Unterstützung anbieten zu können. Dank der Fundación Aitana sind diese Patienten nun bis zum Abschluss ihrer Behandlung sozial und familiär besser integriert. Diese emotionale Unterstützung trägt manches Mal zu besseren medizinischen Ergebnissen bei.
