EN In an EU-funded project, researchers at the University of Alcalá (UAH) in Madrid have developed Mesmerise, an airport security system that can detect any dangerous materials or objects with maximum respect for the privacy of travellers. It’s a scanner that does not generate images and does not need operator intervention. Es handelt sich hierbei um einen Scanner, der weder Bilder erstellt noch eine Personenkontrolle erfordert. ES Investigadores de la Universidad de Alcalá (UAH) de Madrid, con la financiación de la Unión Europea, han desarrollado Mesmerise, un sistema de seguridad para aeropuertos capaz de detectar cualquier material u objeto peligroso respetando al máximo la intimidad de los pasajeros. Se trata de un escáner que no genera imágenes y que no requiere de la intervención de ningún operario.

The company’s manufacturing process is based on a soap-making method used by the ancient civilisations of Babylon, Egypt and Rome. Part of the profits generated from the sale of its products are donated to the restoration of areas that have suffered from forest fires. ES Ashes to Life es una firma de cosmética que fabrica jabones ecológicos a partir de la ceniza de bosques incendiados. Para ello, la compañía ha recuperado el procedimiento de fabricación de este producto que ya utilizaban culturas tan antiguas como la babilónica, la egipcia o la romana. Parte de los beneficios generados por la venta de estos jabones se destina a la restauración de las zonas boscosas quemadas.

DE Ashes to Life ist ein Kosmetikunternehmen, das Bio-Seifen aus der Asche von verbrannten Wäldern herstellt. Hierfür greift das Unternehmen auf die Herstellungsmethode zurück, die schon so alte Kulturen wie die Babylonier, die Ägypter oder die Römer anwandten. Ein Teil der durch den Verkauf dieser Seifen erzielten Gewinne kommt derWiederaufforstung der verbrannten Waldflächen zugute.
