—No debo apartarme de mi búsqueda —dijo en su videodiario.

“I mustn’t get distracted from my search,” he told subscribers to his video diary.

„Ich darf meine Suche nicht aus den Augen verlieren“, sprach er in sein Videotagebuch.

Pero son tantos los placeres que ofrece el hotel Riu Dubai que el profesor no supo eludirlos. Por primera vez en la vida, con gran excitación, se deslizó por un tobogán de agua. —Quién sabe si la puerta de arena está en el fondo de la piscina y entro por ella de un chapuzón —se dijo a sí mismo. Probó las comidas de todos sus restaurantes temáticos: libanés, italiano, asiático…. Disfrutó de los exquisitos desayunos en el buffet. Momentos de relax en el spa y deliciosos cócteles al atardecer. Aunque hasta ese momento pensaba que no era amigo de los espectáculos musicales en vivo, allí asistió a todos.

But the pleasures of Riu Dubai were such that Dr Luján eventually succumbed. For the first time in his life – and with great excitement – he found himself trying out a waterslide. “Who’s to say I won’t find the gateway at the bottom of the pool when I’m taking a dip?” he asked, encouraging himself. He sampled the food at each of the theme restaurants: Lebanese, Italian, Asian… He delighted in the marvellous buffet breakfasts. He enjoyed moments of bliss in the spa and sipped delicious cocktails at sundown. And even though until then he didn’t even like live music, he found himself going every night.

Doch die Vergnügungen, die das Hotel Riu Dubai zu bieten hat, sind so zahlreich, dass der Professor ihnen nicht widerstehen konnte. Zum ersten Mal in seinem Leben glitt er voller Begeisterung eine Wasserrutsche hinab. „Wer weiß, vielleicht ist das Sandtor am Grunde des Beckens und ich kann hindurchtauchen“, redete er sich selbst gut zu. Er probierte das Essen aller Themenrestaurants: des libanesischen, italienischen, asiatischen…. Er genoss das exquisite Frühstück am Buffet. Momente der Entspannung im Spa und leckere Cocktails beim Sonnenuntergang. Obwohl er bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt gedacht hatte, kein Freund von Livemusikshows zu sein, ließ er sich keine entgehen.
