DE Rosalía Vila Tobella wurde 1992 in der Gemeinde Sant Esteve Sesrovires in Barcelona geboren. Schon vor dieser Episode in Granada wusste sie, dass sie die Kunst und Musik im Blut hatte. Sie fühlte dies im Alter von vier Jahren, als sie mit dem Tanzunterricht begann. Durch ihre Hingabe und ihr Engagement wurde schnell klar, dass es nicht nur eine weitere außerschulische Aktivität bleiben sollte. Doch erst als Teenager entdeckte sie, dass der Flamenco ihr Leben verändern würde. Es geschah plötzlich und mit der unschätzbaren Hilfe eines glücklichen Zufalls. Eines Nachmittags hörte sie in der Nähe ihres Zuhauses die Stimme Camaróns aus dem Radio eines Autos, das mit heruntergelassenen Fenstern durch die Stadt fuhr. Diese Musik war Rosalías große Entdeckung. Neben ihrem kometenhaften Aufstieg ist ein weiterer überraschender Aspekt von Rosalías Karriere die Tatsache, dass die Sängerin aus einem Umfeld und einer Familie ohne jeglichen musikalischen Hintergrund stammt. Sie ist in vielerlei Hinsicht eine Pionierin, nicht nur in der Branche, sondern auch in Bezug auf ihre eigene Abstammung. Bei diesem Konzert überraschte sie Kritiker und Publikum gleichermaßen und ihr zweites Album, „El mal querer“, gilt bereits als eines der musikalischen Phänomene der letzten Jahre. Ihre Single „Malamente“ begeisterte Millionen von Fans mit einem bahnbrechenden musikalischen Konzept, in dem Pop und Flamenco auf eine noch nie dagewesene Weise kombiniert werden. One afternoon, near her home, she heard Camarón’s voice on the radio of a car that was driving through the streets of the town with the windows down. This music was a moment of discovery for Rosalía. In addition to her meteoric rise, one of the most surprising aspects of Rosalía’s career is that she comes from an environment and a family with no musical background. A pioneer in many ways, both in the industry and in her own lineage. But, as she herself pointed out in an interview in the newspaper El País, “you are not only what you are given, you are also what you want to be” Since 2016, when she performed with Raül Refree at Madrid’s Casa Patas tablao to present her first album, Los Ángeles, her career has taken off at a frenetic pace. ES Rosalía Vila Tobella nació en el municipio barcelonés de Sant Esteve Sesrovires en 1992. Antes de aquel episodio granadino ya sabía que el arte y la música corrían por sus venas. Lo sabía ya a los cuatro años, cuando comenzó a dar clases de baile, y por su dedicación y entrega pronto dejó claro que aquella no era una actividad extraescolar más. Aunque fue ya de adolescente cuando descubrió que el flamenco iba a cambiar su vida. También ocurrió de repente y con la inestimable colaboración de la serendipia. Una tarde, cerca de su casa, escuchó la voz de Camarón desde la radio de un coche que circulaba por las calles de la localidad con las ventanillas bajadas. Aquella música fue el gran descubrimiento para Rosalía. Además de por meteórica, otro de los aspectos que más sorprende de la carrera de Rosalía es que la cantante procede de un entorno y una familia sin tradición musical alguna. Una artista pionera, en muchos aspectos, en la industria, pero también en su propio linaje. Pero como ella misma destacó en una entrevista en el diario El País, “uno no es solo lo que le viene dado, también es lo que quiere ser”. Desde que en 2016 actuase en el tablao madrileño Casa Patas junto a Raül Refree para presentar su primer trabajo Los Ángeles, los acontecimientos se han sucedido a un ritmo trepidante. Si en aquel concierto sorprendió a crítica y público, su segundo disco, “El mal querer”, es ya considerado como uno de los fenómenos musicales de los últimos años. Su single “Malamente” conquistó a millones de seguidores con una propuesta musical rompedora, en la que el pop y el flamenco se combinan de una forma inaudita hasta la fecha. El sonido Rosalía daba el salto a escala mundial, y el tra tra, junto a sus infinitas uñas de gel, se convertían en su seña de identidad.
